Aion launched in Europe

Today is the first day of Aion in retail stores across Europe. A lot of new people are being introduced to the wonderful world of Aion, the only problem is – are they able to enter the game? Maintenance was performed today and servers were down for a while around 14:00 BST, so people couldn’t log in then. The point of the maintenance was to introduce a patch (1.5.0.7) that modifies how private stores work (it is stores that players can setup on their own and go afk, while their toon is making a profit). People were abusing these as a way to stay logged in all of the time and not have to come back to the game and horrid queues at log in (read this blog post for more info on the issue). With the patch, private stores have been limited to 30 minutes only and then they become inactive and players will get booted unless they come back and play. So far, this has had little effect on the queues and we’re all waiting for prime time to see if this helped at all with the major overpopulation.

NCSoft account pages seem to be taking a hit as well today with influx of EU people entering their serial keys. Just be patient and you’ll manage to upgrade your account properly.

While waiting for you queues or account pages to open here are a few Aion Community articles you might find interesting:

All they need to do is take that stupid 10 item limit off the AH and all the overpopulation and server queue bullshit that personal stores has brought in will disappear instantly, but noooo they want their precious private stores because *insert illogical bullshit here* no point in having a subpar way of trading when theres a far superior world wide trading system already in place, its like choosing between walking and taking a plane when trying to travel across a wide area
