Ayase leaves NCSoft

Sebastian Steifert, known better to European Aion players as Ayase, has stepped down from his position as Community Manager. His last day of work as Community Manager was last Friday. There is an appreciation thread on AionSource forums where you can say your farewells. You can also read his farewell post on the EU forums. Faelan is supposed to take over his responsibilities on the Aion team.

We had a chance to meet Sebastian in person during this year’s Gamescom and he was a pleasure to talk to and a very nice person. NCSoft is at a loss with him leaving and whatever game is getting him is very lucky. Aion Life wishes you the best of luck in your future business endeavors.

New Aion Rifting Changes

On Friday, December 10 Aion team will begin a month-long trial of changes to the current rifting settings. During this one-month trial:

  1. The protection for defenders in Morheim and Eltnen will remain, but the strength of the protection will be significantly reduced. The intent of this change is to provide protection to lower-level players, but also allow for challenging rifting battles in Morheim and Eltnen.
  2. The protection for defenders in Heiron and Beluslan will be removed entirely. This change allows higher-level players to engage in full-scale rifting and to complete spy quests, such as the Betoni’s quest line.

New Aion festival – Solorius

Solorius is the traditional Atreian midwinter festival, from December 15th, 2010 to January 5th, 2011.

The event staff have plenty of tasty goodies to go around, not to mention dyes, candy, and the perennial favorite, silly hats. All you have to do to get them is give them a helping hand tracking down the Solorius socks and making sure their volunteers get rewarded.

Aion Important Notice Regarding iOS 4.2

Aion Exchange team released today important notice that the current version of Aion Exchange (1.0.7) is not compatible with Apple’s recently released iOS 4.2. From Monday, November 22, 2010 through December 7, 2010, you can create a speech bubble entry and win some great prized at AMD and Razer!

Aion daily Quest Guide: Blackheart, Cold Hands

I believe this is one of the most complicated and also very expensive daily quest. If you died several times and couldn’t find Blackheart Undarr I believe this guide will be of great help to you. We would like to thank Eggs for all screenshots and tips.

Blackheart is surrounded by 4 dot hero grade mobs. Still, you can get through most of it by carefully skirting the elites’ aggro areas. If you’re a sin, you can get all the way to the back and do this solo without dying. Regardless of your class, kisk close and bring self-rez stones because you’re probably going to die a few times doing this. This is much easier if you bring someone who can aggro the heroes and eat a death for you so you can pull Blackheart.

The boss is invisible at first and appears only when you are very close to its location. It is a normal mob but it is linked to a hero mob. Don’t forget that you have to spawn Blackheart!

Aion Level Up Mini-Event

Today NCsoft has announced a mini-event the Assault on Balaurea Level Up Weekend. If you plan to try Aion or to roll a new character this is the perfect moment because you have a chance to win a new Alienware M11x Laptop!

Just register and sign up for the Level Up weekend, and get one character to level 6 between 9:00 pm on Friday, November 19 through 9:00 pm Sunday, November 21. Each qualified registration is entered to win the Alienware M11x Laptop!

Once registered, your character’s level will be tracked during the event on the Alienware Arena Competitors page! This is a great chance to follow your progress during the event.
