Just a quick note:
New server [GER]Nerthus is going live in a bit. NA East Coast, English European and French servers are coming.

Celebrating yesterday’s retail release of Aion in Europe, we’re proud to announce that we have made available our quest database in German as well. You can see the quests in German at http://aion.mmorpg-life.com/category/quest/de/. You can also use our advanced quest search in the sidebar in German if you click on the little flag there. Regular search should also find German articles as well.
We have just started our internationalization of the quest database, but we thought we better provide you with these even with some English left, rather than leave you with no help in German whatsoever. We will be trying to introduce the French version of our quest database as well in the upcoming days.
Here’s our official announcement to the German community:
Liebe deutsche Aion-Spieler!
Aion Life
Aion team has the honor today of introducing [West] Fregion – the first server to be added after very successful launch of Aion! A European server and an east coast North American server are also on the way.
The name “Fregion” has its origin in ancient Atreian lore, taken from the one Drakan that sparked history-altering pretension in the Balaur Empire, eventually leading to The Epic Cataclysm.
Today is the first day of Aion in retail stores across Europe. A lot of new people are being introduced to the wonderful world of Aion, the only problem is – are they able to enter the game? Maintenance was performed today and servers were down for a while around 14:00 BST, so people couldn’t log in then. The point of the maintenance was to introduce a patch (1.5.0.7) that modifies how private stores work (it is stores that players can setup on their own and go afk, while their toon is making a profit). People were abusing these as a way to stay logged in all of the time and not have to come back to the game and horrid queues at log in (read this blog post for more info on the issue). With the patch, private stores have been limited to 30 minutes only and then they become inactive and players will get booted unless they come back and play. So far, this has had little effect on the queues and we’re all waiting for prime time to see if this helped at all with the major overpopulation.
NCSoft account pages seem to be taking a hit as well today with influx of EU people entering their serial keys. Just be patient and you’ll manage to upgrade your account properly.
While waiting for you queues or account pages to open here are a few Aion Community articles you might find interesting:
If you have noticed that your Legion name is cut don’t worry it’s just a cosmetic issue that Aion team is aware of. Basically, the name is still stored in its entirety in Aion database. A fix to display it correctly is in the works.
There is currently an issue where a Legion name will appear correctly when creating the Legion (up to 32 characters), but will be condensed to 16 characters (including spaces) upon logging out of the game.
The Development Team is aware of this issue and working to resolve it as quickly as possible. In the meantime, you are welcome to submit a new name for your Legion and we’ll be happy to change it for you.
You also have the option to wait until this issue has been resolved and submit a longer Legion name (32 characters) to be used at that time. If you have any questions or concerns, please let us know.
According to Aion associate producer Lani Blazier and NCsoft West’s PR director Ryan James the Aion team is taking a cautious route in expanding the number of game servers to make Aion available for all players.
The roll out of the original servers and each additional server has been planned with an eye toward a sustainable and stable release of each new world server. We have plans to build, test, and roll out each new server, to set them to appropriate time zone settings based on the whole community’s needs, and to balance each of them appropriately as to faction. We are managing the roll out of game servers at a steady and deliberate pace. We want to give players the gameplay they deserve in the long term, as well during the expansive burst phase of Head Start and the short-term post-launch period.
The benefits are many to be had if you have preordered Aion or are the owner of a rare and much coveted Limited Collector’s Edition. Notable among these is an array of in-game items you can give to your characters.
CE/Preorder items are now available
If you bought physical Collector’s Edition, you need to apply CE key to get CE items (otherwise only Preorder items) – available launch day
Retail keys (both Standard and Collector) cannot be applied before release (22nd in NA, 25th EU)
To assign the Aion Pre-Order or Aion Limited Collector’s Edition in-game items to your Aion characters, please follow these instructions.
NOTE: These special in-game items or item packs are not provided to characters automatically. You will need to follow these steps for every character new you create or any character you have already created during the HeadStart Event in order for all of your characters to receive the items.
There’s this one small fedex quest in Altgard called “The Scribbler”. In it you have to talk to certain Noroia character. Although she is a scantily clothed lady wielding a large mace, that is not why everyone is talking about her in Regional chat. It is because 90% of the players can’t locate her. Aion Life to rescue with our detailed quest explanations. Noroia is located in a dungeon below Altgard. The entrance to the dungeon is in the back of the main buildings as clearly shown in our images of the quest walkthrough. Hope this saved some of you some time :).
It’s less than an hour before Aion’s head start, where first players will get a chance to enter the world of Atreia without having their characters deleted afterward. In preparation for the launch all servers are down, so if you are getting an auth connection error – it’s OK. NCSoft released brand new official Aion sites with loads of new content and cool features, like viewing your character (and other people’s characters) in 3D with full gear from the game. An example has been posted by Aionic Thoughts, in case you can’t reach the official site ATM (like I can’t). The sites are:
For the North American players: http://na.aiononline.com/
For the English speaking Europeans/British players: http://uk.aiononline.com/
For the German players: http://de.aiononline.com/
For the French players: http://fr.aiononline.com/
I just wanted to thank NCSoft for their hard work on bringing this game to the gamers. The community team, Ayase, Liv, Brian Knox and the rest for keeping us updated with all the news, all the time. And to the Aion community I have these words: GLHF = “Good Luck Have Fun” – see you on the battlefield.
It’s only a few hours separating us from spreading the wings to explore a breath-taking world of Aion. A brand new trailer has been released to make sure that everyone remembers how pretty this game is.
