NCsoft has announced that nearly one million copies of Aion: The Tower of Eternity have been sold in North America and Europe. More than 500,000 copies of Aion have been sold in North America and around 470,000 in Europe.
Statistically speaking, Aion’s popularity provides very high position for this MMO with 52% of total NCsoft’s sales for last quarter.
Both EU and NA servers are going down for maintenance in about 2 hours (11am GMT / 3:30 a.m. PST). The maintenance is estimated to take no longer than 3 hours. I wonder if they’ll implement the new patch today? BTW, did you notice that EU maintenance starts at 11.11. at 11am GMT? Symbolic times freak me out.
If you decide to purchase Aion during the holiday season you can expect exclusive in-game items such as special dyes, potions, amulets and scrolls.
NCsoft has also announced 30 and 60 day game-time cards.

After several weeks spent on compiling all the resources and coding the whole damn thing (should have taken three days, but life got in the way) Aion Life’s gathering database is finally ready for you guys to use. Everybody needs to take a break from leveling and PvP from time to time and creating stuff for your toon, or to make money from, is a perfect pass time in-game. Starting point for all professions is gathering of necessary materials. Aion lets you gather everything for all professions and professional gatherers can make considerable amounts of money by selling materials to crafters.
To make your life easier, whether a professional gatherer or crafter looking for that one last ingredient, we have compiled a list of all the gatherable resources in Aion together with maps and exact locations of where you can find them. We hope this helps you considerably in your crafting endeavors.
As you already guess you can change the color of your armor. If you ask why should I do this? The answer is – only for show. You can dye every piece of your armor and you will need one dye per item but there are some restrictions. You can not dye Accessories, Draconic, Abyss and Unique Items. Dye and petals are items that are used to change the color of the armor.
The Aion Veteran Rewards program rewards steadfast Aion gamers for their time spent playing Aion. For each month you have an active account, you are eligible to redeem in-game items, such as weapons, armor, titles, and emotes. Each program reward can be redeemed once for every character within each respective Aion game account.
Aion reserves the right to expand, revise, or end the Veteran Rewards program at their sole discretion.
There is apparently a contest going on in NCSoft’s offices to determine who has the best Halloween themed desk. Who has the best looking decoration? I vote for the Spider guy.

Official Aion sites have released several news items I’d like to reflect on here. New patch 1.5.1 is in the works and Aion_Tamat was kind enough to let the community know what we can expect. There are some anti-griefing mechanisms included, item modifications and more anti bot/spam mechanisms introduced. We have put up our page for the 1.5.1 patch preview; please note that these are NOT final patch notes. We’ll keep you update if any other important notes are added.
There will be a small invasion on Dreamhack Winter, the well known LAN party held in Sweden, by the Aion community and staff. There’s a plan of introducing 16 fully decked out Aion gaming stations for anyone who hasn’t yet tried the game. Aion PvP tournament will also be held at the venue and prominent Swedish Legions and fansites will be present as well. Read the full news here.
